On August 21st, 2018, our daughter Riley, was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes and admitted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital. We were stunned as both of us had family members with both types of diabetes and we knew that we were all about to embark on a totally new way of life. Type 1 Diabetes is a non-preventable, lifelong, autoimmune disease with no cure. Compared to past years, the research & development of new tools has made testing and dosing much more bearable. These advances are made possible by the continued research and support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Each year Riley puts together a team for the "JDRF One Walk" a walk to help raise funds for research into finding a cure for type 1 diabetes. Along with raising monetary donations Riley also designs (with a little help from mom and dad) and sells clothing and accessories which also generate funds that go towards JDRF and the cost of her medicine and medical supplies.
This year's T-shirts and Tank-tops will be available for pre-order on September 23rd and will be available for pick up @ Barefoot Studio or will ship to you on October 17th.
Also, we'd love for you to join us at the JDRF One Walk!
The walk/festivities start at Dickey Stephens Park in North Little Rock, Sunday, October 27th, 2019 check-in starts @ 1pm, walk starts @ 2pm. You can join Riley's team and or make a donation by following the link below:
